What's New for 2019?

Though always considered one of the top truck options on the market, the new 2019 Ford F-150 welcomes several key upgrades without going through the full-on redesign that occurs every so often. The major new addition to the 2019 F-150 lineup is the 3.0-liter diesel V-6, which gives you a unique driving experience and more efficiency. The available 3.5-liter V-6 engine that's found in the Limited and Raptor trim levels have been tweaked to deliver more power, and a new 36-gallon fuel tank is standard on those trims, keeping you on the road longer between visits to the fuel pumps. Finally, a forward-collision warning with emergency braking system is now standard in every F-150 model, helping to keep you out of harm's way while hauling, towing or simply driving around Hickory or Mountain City.

2019 Ford F-150 Performance and Capabilities

The F-150 comes with many cab styles, bed lengths and trim levels, with plenty of options. On that front, you'll also have a wealth of engine options available too, starting with the base 3.3-liter V-6, rated at 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Up next is a turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 (325 horsepower, 400 pound-feet), a 5.0-liter V-8 (395 horsepower, 400 pound-feet) and finally a turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that produces either 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet or 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, depending on the trim.

As we mentioned earlier, the 2019 F-150 now offers a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V-6, which rates at 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. Get all that? Safety and Technology

For quite some time, the F-150 could boast as being one of the safest pickups on the market, and that trend continues with the layers of safety technology offered. As we mentioned, standard forward collision-warning with automatic emergency braking is a great feature to have in any version of your F-150, kicking in when you can respond to traffic suddenly stopping in front of you. You'll also be able to add features like blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control and more to help you stay out of harm's way.

Beyond the handy driver aids found throughout the six main trim levels, special editions and option packages, you'll have a wealth of handy infotainment tech systems to keep you connected, integrate your smartphone and more. You'll want to consider special off-road packages, features that assist with towing a trailer and the upgrades for your sound system, comfort amenities and more.
